Are we really at threat from Iran? If they had nukes, do they have the ability to send them over to us? Would they even want to attack us? They are much more likely to attack Israel. Israel has an extremely powerful army, and after the Unites States, Russia, and France is estimated to have the fourth most nuclear weapons. It would be unwise for Iran to even pursue such a war. I do believe there are no actual reports factually claiming Iran is pursuing the creation of a nuclear bomb, but BEST case estimates put creation of one at 2 years, with far more estimates claiming 3-8, even 10 years. Iran itself is really of no real threat to the US. Propagandering and fearmongering in the US are growing due to influence by Israel.
Iran is also attempting to open an oil bourse on which to buy and sell oil, which would be offered in currencies other than US Dollars. Currently oil worldwide can only be purchased from oil exchanges in USD(Petrodollars) which has led the world to dollar hegemony. This has created an artificial demand for USD which it is theorized the US tries to protect through Petrodollar Warfare.
Attacking Iran now would also further the theory that the US has abandoned the Just War theory. Since we are in no real danger of imminent attack on the US by Iran either it would not even be a Preemptive War, but a Preventive War.
“Preventive war is like committing suicide out of fear of death.”
-Otto von Bismarck
“Preventive war was an invention of Hitler. Frankly, I would not even listen to anyone seriously that came and talked about such a thing.”
-Dwight D. Eisenhower
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is a special interest lobbying group to the US Congress. In 1997 and 2005 it was recognized as the 2nd most powerful lobby. The US gives Israel 10-15 million dollars per day; a country of only ~6 million when this statistic was produced. Israel is attempting to occupy and annex surrounding Arab states, which obviously creates friction in the region. US support of Zionism was one of, if not the, main cause for the 9/11 attacks. AIPAC is known to have an extremely strong public relations arm in the US and it is able to exert control over US media to an extensive degree. Those that challenge support for Israel are quieted, attacked as anti-Semite, or threatened.
Per themselves, “The Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan “fact tank” that provides information on the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. It does so by conducting public opinion polling and social science research; by reporting news and analyzing news coverage; and by holding forums and briefings. It does not take positions on policy issues.”
The conclusion of the above being, those who use the internet as their main source of news are far more critical of other sources of information. This is because you can gather the most information online and make more educated decisions when separating actual information from spin.
This video is great. It has some neocon reporter going out there to try and find Ron Paul supporters to make fun of. Of course, the initial assertion was that Ron Paul supporters only exist on the internet. Now that we’ve find that they do exist off of it, neocons and mainstream media do their best to discredit and marginalize the support. Oh, they’re all crazy! Conspiracy theorists! 9/11 Truthers!
This guy comes up looking for just that. He also presents the absolutely idiotic argument that if YOUR civil liberty is not personally taken away that you have no right to complain about it. I am sure he would also make the point of well, it caught this criminal here so it’s ok. These arguments are asanine. An attack on anyone’s civil liberties is an attack on us all. These idiots act like the Constitution was written to protect criminals. It was written to protect the rights of citizens from their government.
This Ron Paul supporter, who was a JUDGE, does an awesome job of handling this fool.
I had heard of 1984 but never read it. I understood the premise. It sounded like quite an interesting story of a distant world that could only take place today in movies. This was before I became interested in politics. I thought it was quite an interesting story. Now I see that truly it is a warning and a masterpiece. Although it was written based on Stalin’s Soviet Union, it frighteningly parallels many things in the world today.
1984 is a novel by George Orwell. The main themes of the dystopian society it portrays are becoming reality as every day passes. Most people have heard of “Big Brother” - the government authority who has the people in society under constant surveillance. Is there any question as to whether this is reality today in London? There are camera posts all over the city, with 6 cameras on each. London itself has over FOUR MILLION cameras.
Jean Charles de Menezes was a Brazilian living in London. He was guilty of no crimes but was shot 8 times in the head. The official story and facts of the case have been changed many times and what truly happened is still unknown.
Listen to what this woman says in this video. 3:19 - “I think people should give up their liberty for freedom.” What?? They are the same thing! This is a perfect example of doublespeak. This person has confused herself into thinking that giving up liberties has given her more freedom. This is untrue. HIGHLY arguable is that this person is now actually more secure. I know a place you can give up all your liberties and ensure that you’re pretty safe! It’s called PRISON.
“Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
-Benjamin Franklin
What about the ministries (departments) in 1984? The function of the ministries is to do the opposite of what they are named.
The Ministry of Peace is the military, and they conduct the government’s perpetual war. The war is unclearly defined and has no clear ending conditions. What is the war on terror? Terrorists are basically described as “them” against “us” and that them is changing constantly. There are no clearly defined exit conditions. It is impossible to extinguish all of terrorism if that was even a stated goal (we have in fact created more terrorists today than there ever have been - per the CIA). The reasons Iraq was entered were satisfied a long time ago, such as the removal of the (never found) Weapons of Mass Destruction. Of course now we’re staying, with no end in sight, to spread peace and democracy. At the end of a gun.
The Ministry of Truth is the propaganda machine for the government. It can be very well likened to mainstream media today - which is exactly what is done in the video documentaries I mentioned in this blog.
The Ministry of Love identifies and tortures dissidents until the point that they are brainwashed and embrace the government. Although the US does allow torture now, I would liken this more to the attack on anyone disagreeing or questioning government or policy today. While great Americans throughout history have encouraged dissidence, today it is seen as unpatriotic and traitorous by those who have been brainwashed, and those who are doing the brainwashing.
“I love America more than any other country in the world and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.”
-James Baldwin
“Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do.”
-Rudy Giuliani
“Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place.”
-Ron Paul
